Attorney Dr. Maximilian Kohlhof advises clients, both individuals and companies, in all matters of sanctions and criminal law, particularly in the area of compliance. Dr. Kohlhof focused on criminal law at an early stage and so has the expertise from many years of working in this field. At the very beginning of his legal career, Dr. Kohlhof gained practical experience as a defence counsel in the so-called Loveparade trial.

 In addition to individual defence, his main focus is on providing criminal law advice and representation to companies. Supporting companies through preventative counselling and during crisis situations are core strengths of Dr. Kohlhof.

 WirtschaftsWoche has ranked Dr. Kohlhof among the "Top Lawyers in Compliance" for 2021.

 Dr. Kohlhof graduated from the University of Regensburg and the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster. He received his doctorate in white-collar criminal law from the University of Cologne, for which he was awarded the sponsorship prize by Phönix Academiae e.V..

 As a lecturer at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Dr. Kohlhof teaches students in the natural sciences and humanities on the topic of punishment and punitive powers in consideration of human rights.

 Dr. Kohlhof is a member of the Wirtschaftsstrafrechtliche Vereinigung e. V. (WisteV). He is also a member of the Verein Junger Düsseldorfer Wirtschaftsanwälte (JDWA).
